The Jamaican financial industry consists of commercial banks, merchant and trust banks, credit unions, building societies and licensees under the Financial Institutions Act.

As of December 2013, the commercial and merchant banks that comprise the financial services industry had total assets of J$766,062,440billion with liabilities of J$655,808,041billion resulting in total capital of J$110,254,399billion as under:
